Father's Day Barbeque Hamburger

Father's Day Barbeque Hamburger

If the 'Dad' in your life loves a good homemade beef burger, consider buying him the Tala Hamburger Press for Father's Day. Or better still; use the Hamburger Press to make him best burger for his special day. The hamburger press can be used with chicken mince and turkey mince. These exquisite beef burgers taste fantastic with our delicious smoky BBQ sauce; just be sure to choose beef mince with a fat content of around 20%.

Now is not the time to count calories, as low-fat mince makes a dry and disappointing burger. Serve the burgers stacked in a brioche bun with posh salad leaves, a good helping of BBQ Sauce and a slice of melting mature cheddar cheese. Get creative with bacon, mushrooms or blue cheese if you want to. Do not let gravity hold you back – pin the burger together with Tala cocktail sticks if that is what it takes.

This recipe makes 7 burgers.

For the burgers:

1kg beef mince (20% fat, minimum)

2 egg yolks

Salt/pepper (generously)

Half small onion, finely chopped

Parsley, chopped (optional)

For the extras:

Brioche burger buns

Cheddar cheese, sliced

Red onion, sliced

Tomato, sliced

Salad leaves

BBQ Sauce

Tala 2 litre mixing bowl

Tala wooden spoon

Tala Hamburger Press

  • Place the mince, egg yolks, onion, parsley and seasoning in a mixing bowl and briefly mix together with your hands (or a wooden spoon).
  • Spoon the mince mixture into the hamburger press and pat down gently with the back of a spoon.

  • Place the lid onto the hamburger press and gently press down to form a patty shape.

  • Turn the burgers out onto greaseproof paper and refrigerate until your BBQ is at the right temperature.

  • When the BBQ is ready, lay the burgers directly onto the cooking grill and grill for 4 to 6 minutes on each side, depending on whether you like your burgers pink inside or brown all the way through, flipping with the tongs when you feel it is time to turn them over.

  • When the burgers are nearly done, slice the brioche buns in half and toast on the BBQ grill, and for those that ordered 'Cheeseburgers' place a slice of cheese on top of each burger.

  • Now for the really fun part! Layer burgers, cheese, BBQ sauce, red onion and salad leaves in a delicious tower, topping off with the top of the bun and securing in place with a Tala cocktail stick,  if necessary.

Enjoy with friends and family.
