Equipment:

Apple twists
Ingredients
1 roll of ready made puff pastry
3 red apples
3 tbsp demerara/brown sugar
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp milk

Golden syrup sauce
50g golden syrup
100ml double cream
25g butter
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas mark.
2. Wash and grate the apples. Squeeze the pulp to remove the excess water.
3. Unfold the puff pastry roll. Spread the grated apples onto half of the pastry. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
4. Fold the pastry onto the half covered with the grated apples. Press the edges with your fingers to seal.
5. Cut 10 equal stripes. Hold the 2 edges of the stripe and twist. Repeat with each stripe.
6. Place the apple twists onto a large baking tray, previously lined with greaseproof baking paper.
7. Brush with some milk, then bake in the preheated oven for 15 mins.
8. Make the sauce. Add all the ingredients to a small pan. Bring to the boil over a low heat and let reduce for a few mins.
9. Let cool down a bit before serving.
10. Enjoy!
